Why are electrolytes so important? To understand this, we must know what electrolytes are. They are minerals in your body that play a huge role in regulating and controlling the balance of fluids in your body. Things like regulating blood pressure and muscle contractions are just some of the issues they help with. There are three major electrolytes: Potassium, Magnesium, and Sodium. Consuming correct amounts of these three electrolytes will help you live a healthier lifestyle.

People lose electrolytes during activities such as vomiting, diarrhea, working out, or any other activity that results in sweating. This results in dehydration which comes with symptoms such as dizziness, nausea, dry lips, headaches and thirst. Here are some ways to make sure you stay hydrated:

  • Start drinking water as soon as you get up in the morning.
